Hi, I'm totally new here. :)  I have only been on this diet for 8 days now so I'm probably not over the die-off yet, but I am having problems eating only veggies and meat and reflux.  Yesterday I had the worst reflux after eating some cabbage, stewed tomatoes and ground beef.  Even my pepcid didn't work well.  I have had reflux on and off for years and I always found that just a plain piece of bread would help me often times, to absorb excess stomach acid.  Does anyone else relate to this and if so what did you do to help this during your diet?  It doesn't seem like I can eat much whole grains at this point, though I did even have a little (1/4 cup) of cooked quinoa yesterday too and that didn't help either.  Any advice?  Oh, I am also taking some natural digestive aids already like licorice root and papaya enzymes.

I don't have this issue as I struggle with following the diet but when I have reflux I either take some digestive enzymes and/or msm.  Msm has always helped me with this. MSM, methylsulfonylmethane is a nutritional sulfur that your body needs.  Search the internet

thanks!  I have tried MSM in the past (for something else, don't remember what now) and I believe I'm allergic to it.  I developed an itchy rash.

Unfortunately, the reflux has made me cheat on the diet and eat some bread occationally.  I still am feeling very good though so I'm hoping my symptoms don't come back. :?  I am not 100% that I have candida anyways, this is just my best educational guess.  Hopefully I can get a natural doctor to see me soon and figure it out.

I had the same problems as you for 20 years and now finally figured out how to fix it. Once your acid problem is fixed the candida will no longer be an issue. Candida thrives in an acidic environment. Once you increase your alkalinity all of your problems will get better at one time. The first thing you should do is buy a ph test kit at your local health food store to test your acidity. Anything less than 7 is acidic and I promise you with acid reflux you will be in the low 6's or less. Once you see that your acidic you will need to get a few products that I have turned a number of my friends with the same problem as you on to and have worked 100% of the time. The first and most important is to drink alkaline water and get on an alkaline diet. Ground beef is highly acidic, that's why you had the reflux. Google akaline vs acid foods. The alkaline water will neutralize the acid and raise your ph (alkalinity) as well as help cleanse your system. Go to your local health food store and get stage 3 water. (ph 9). If you cant find anyone that has it you can buy drops to increase the ph of your bottled water. Regular bottled water is acidic so drinking it with an acid problem doesn't do you any good. In order to raise your alkalinity you need to take in greens and minerals. The two products that worked for me and others I bought from phionbalance.com.(read the articles on the website so you can see what your real problem is.) They are the green super food and the alkaline minerals. If you can't find the water they have the ph drops on there called ph booster. I bought the acid drainage, if you have the money you may want to get it. Later I found the same products on healthsuperstore.com for 60 percent less. The acid problem can become very serious if you don't start fixing it now. My ph got to 5 and almost cost me my life. Anthing less than 5.3 and you can no longer assimilate vitamins and minerals. If it gets to 4 you die. Go to DR. Robert Youngs site which is phmiracleliving.com and read about the symptoms of over acidity. They are very similar to candida, in fact he lists candida as a symptom of over acidity. He is right because my candida is going away just by raising my ph. After 4 days on the minerals, greens, water, and diet 20 years worth of fatigue, brain fog, insomnia, digestive problems, refux, etc got 500% better. I had tried every candida product known to man and yes I do have candida. Candida sufferers have acid problems and many don't realize it. I haven't found a candida product product that will work in an acidic environment.  Email me if you need any help. Andrewsimports2@comcast.net

So Andrew F, what exactly did you take or do to get over the over-acidic problems in your body?  I am interested in knowing as I have looked at the sites you mentioned and I am more confused than before.

Thanks

very interesting.  I have figured out recently that ground feed doesn't seem to make me feel well and my dh loves it!  But, I am cutting back anyways and he understands.  I have actually read on many sites that candida thrives in an alkaline environment so what you are saying about acidity seems contradictory.  Anyways, all I know is that I am feeling WAY better just by cutting out sugar and white flour.  I am eating whole grains, lots of veggies, poultry and eggs and some fruit (small amounts) oh and very low dairy too.  This diet, which is not totally a candida diet but close, is helping me TONS.  I haven't had reflux issues in a few weeks now or any of the symptoms I was having before.  When I do cheat and have some sugar (has only happened a few times like at parties and such) I get many of the same symptoms again like insomnia, leg cramps and bad fatigue. UGHH!  It makes me feel better for sticking to the diet as it seems to be helping.  Thanks for the info though, I'll definately check it out and mention it to the md.  I am finally going to see a homeopathic doctor soon!

There's also another issue that one needs to look into besides the ph balance and that is a toxic colon. You should read this article as it's the BEST one that I've read to date. http://www.thedoctorwithin.com/colon/journey-to-the-center-of-your-colon/

It's a very interesting find and, if you scroll down a bit, you'll find a really interesting section about reflux.

Yeah, no kidding! I'm telling ya, the root of all health issues like these are rooted in the GUT. That's the source. Fix the source, the rest will follow / heal.

Well, we've worked with a lot of people, and many have reported acid reflux as one of their issues.

And over time following a plan that combines the right dietary supplements with a smart diet, many have reported progress.
